How to Correct Breast Asymmetry
In terms of size and shape, breasts are typically never exactly fully symmetrical, but most women have breasts that appear symmetrical inside and outside of clothing. Unfortunately, many women have asymmetrical breasts that are noticeably different in size and shape. For these women, the appearance of their breasts can be a source of embarrassment that makes them feel uncomfortable with their body.
Correcting breast asymmetry is a very personalized process. If the patient is happier with a smaller breast size, a breast reduction can be performed on the larger breast.
If the patient prefers a larger size, an implant can be placed in one breast to create a symmetrical appearance. A breast lift can also be preformed to give the breasts a symmetrical shape. For some cases, a combination of these procedures may be required.
