I Can Remove Hair There?

If you love spending summers on the beach but are tired of the inconvenience of shaving and waxing, it’s time to consider bikini or Brazilian laser hair removal. Smooth, silky skin without the hassle of razors or messy wax is possible thanks to the power of laser energy.

The team at The Spa MD has extensive medical and aesthetic knowledge and experience. We offer a full range of services to help you look and feel your best, including laser hair removal.

Smooth skin using laser treatment isn’t just for your legs and face, it’s safe for your bikini area too. Now you can feel confident in your swimsuit this summer without fussing with razors or wax.

Here’s our guide to bikini and Brazilian laser hair removal.

What does laser hair removal involve?

Laser hair removal treatment involves using laser energy to stop targeted hair follicles from producing new hair. Laser treatment can be used anywhere that hair grows, except the eye area.

During your treatment a concentrated beam or laser energy is directed at the targeted area. The pigment in the hair absorbs the energy from the laser, which damages hair follicles to prevent future hair growth.

Hair grows in three phases and not all of your hair follicles are actively growing at once. Some hair follicles are in a resting phase, while others may be in a shedding phase. Lasers can only disable hair follicles during their active growth phase. For this reason, you’ll need a series of treatments for the desired results.

Bikini or Brazilian laser removal: which treatment is right for me?

Bikini laser hair removal targets hair outside the panty line. This helps you feel confident and good when wearing a swimsuit or bikini. Brazilian laser hair removal treatment targets all of your pubic hair. Both treatments provide safe, effective, long-term results.

The treatment that is right for you comes down to personal preference, and these aren’t your only two options. Laser hair removal is completely customizable. We can treat any unwanted hair. If you prefer removing hair from the sides and top of your pubic area as well, we can do that too! You’ll enjoy smooth skin in the target area you choose without the need for shaving or waxing.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

One of the most common questions people have about laser hair removal is what it feels like. Fortunately, our patients tolerate laser hair removal well. You need not worry about excessive discomfort.

There is minor discomfort that patients describe as feeling like a rubber band snapping the skin. This mild sensation fades rapidly, and our team works to keep you comfortable throughout the entire treatment. Your provider can use cooling gel if your skin is particularly sensitive.

What to expect after laser hair removal

It’s common to notice redness and some minor swelling after your session. This typically lasts just a few hours. You’ll see results after your first few sessions. Most patients need 2-6 treatments. After 4-6 evenly spaced sessions, most people see a 70% to 80% reduction in hair regrowth.

A few days after your treatment, you may notice what looks like new hair growth from treated areas. This is normal and a sign that the treatment is working.

Ditch the razors and wax with laser hair removal. If you’re ready to look and feel great in your swimsuit this summer, then you’re ready for laser hair removal.
